How's this for a New Year downer... turns out I *probably* have a chronic incurable genetic disease. Nice. My brother-in-law has the same condition and he diagnosed it right away. I know that some of you may be thinking... "well, from playing with you at the tables and seeing your photos, I suspected you may have Down's Syndrome..." ![]() | ||||||||||||
| "You sure that's not a symptom of Down's Syndrome, bro?" |
Anyway, in doing about 10 minutes of research into the subject (because my health is worth a few minutes of my time), it turns out that it may not be genetic (which I thought was fishy, since no one in my family has it), and that causes can include stress, diet and weather. So rather than focus on a monetary goal for 2011, I decided I need to focus more on my health. I'm bringing back the Whale Watch, and I'm going to shoot to lose 2% a month. Every month I don't hit my goal, I'll do something embarrassing in the blog. And as a double incentive, I'll come up with a schedule of "rewards" that Mrs. Fly can provide for me for meeting my goals. ;-)
I'll still post graphs and my winnings, but since I basically have the same boring graph every month anyway, I think it'll be a nice change of pace. But I'll also have my monetary goals (later post).

sup doublefly, big fan!
ReplyDeleteI would highly recommend oxy elite pro for you on the health. I just finished the bottle lasting 2 months and can tell you everything about it. First few weeks i wasn't used to it because it did give a huge boost of energy and you will feel drowsy. However, the next week you'll feel great. This pill will make you want to go out and do a physical activity at times and you will start sweating even if your not doing anything. For poker its great cause it gives you a great concentration level as well. I didn't have any side effects for this except at times I would feel sick because I didn't eat enough. This pill will not make you want to eat alot! Let me know for any questions.
Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely check it out eventually, but for now I want to try and stay "drug" free.
ReplyDeletehahaha for sure man I think if you start losing motivation for sure this thing will help a ton. keep in touch man!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to give you the best dose of reality you're going to hear regarding weight loss.
ReplyDeleteYou need to count your calories. Every day, every meal, every morsel of food that goes into your mouth. At least for the first 3 months. www.fitday.com has an excellent, free, tracker.
You should find a BMR calculator online, input your stats, and aim for an average of 500cals less per day. Regardless of what else happens, you should realize this goal. After that, 30 mins of cardio+30 mins of weights 4x a week would be great, but if you can't manage that in your schedule, just focus on the cals.
If you eat below maintenance, you will lose weight. (it's science, after all).

Yup. Eat less & exercise. Not rocket science. :-(
